scarchitekten is an architectural and design office focused on contemporary solutions for the built environment. From architecture to visual communication scarchitekten works with clients to seamlessly innovate, design and build. We approach design as a strategic process and continue to seek new means for ideas to be experienced. We believe in the raw craft of building. as a result of our knowledge and passion for buildings, we are able to design and manage imaginative projects. Rather than applying a predetermined conceptual framework, we work experimentally to find innovative spatial solutions. We embrace the inherent constraints of any architectural project, including zoning, code, program and budget. scarchitects find the unique opportunities that exist within these constraints to create compelling space. scarchitekten design balances the demands of artistic endeavor, functional pragmatics and financial considerations.T he firm's design approach is client and site specific while questioning conventional assumptions. A collaborative process including clients, fabricators and builders inspires a creative exploration resulting in appropriate solutions. The inherent spirit of place is uncovered and constraints are transformed into unique design. The individual character of each project emerges through poetic spatial relationships, material richness and exact detail. scarchitekten hopes to remove the perception that quality architecture is a luxury good but instead it is a social good and an investment that will pay off for future generations. This philosophy is applied to all of our work regardless of scale or budget and has successfully been applied to our work in architecture, interior design, furniture and urban studies.
