The area of the former Nibelungen barracks is being redesigned into a lively urban quarter with the TechCampus, commercial area, office use and residential use in the south. The special challenge lies in the slope, which slopes to the north and is structured with terraces in such a way that the sunlight is guaranteed for all buildings.
In order to create a uniform image, a design guideline was developed that specifies the qualities of the plants as well as for coverings and façades.
The TechCampus Regensburg was given a representative opening square in the heart of the new quarter and a public green space in the north as well as parts of the street green.
A large sports and play park (BA3) is currently being built in the south of the TechCampus. Play areas for children and young people are planned in three lenses. Various workshops were held in which groups were asked about their wishes and ideas. The children (7 - 12 years) were asked to draw their ideas. The young people (13 - 17 yrs) were invited to participate in the discussion. Their contributions were documented on call. The contributions were summarised and incorporated into the draft.
