Artista meets Art.

With its James-Simon-Galerie designed by David Chipperfield Architects, Berlin has gained an architecturally as well as in terms of urban development sophisticated building, which has been planned in detail since the 1990s with the aim of meeting the needs of the location, the city, its visitors and residents and, last but not least, the art treasures on display. With a floor area of 10,900 square meters and 4,600 square meters of usable space, the James-Simon-Galerie offers a straight connection to the neighboring buildings of Pergamon Museum and Neues Museum. Between the levels, situated on the mezzanine floor, not only the museum’s shop did find its proper place, but also the spacious cloakroom facilities, in which rosconi’s wardrobe icon “Artista” is presented in an unusual anodized bronze edition requested by architect David Chipperfield.
