The new hospice for children and young people in Diemershaldenstrasse was officially opened in November 2017. Since the beginning of December, the former Villa Wittmann has been home and a place of rest for children and young people with life-shortening conditions. The building also has rooms for parents to allow them to accompany their children and take their leave in dignified surroundings.

The Nimbus Group with CEO and architect Dietrich F. Brennenstuhl was involved in the lighting design at a very early stage and provided the lighting for the outdoor areas and reception area through to the therapy units, children's rooms and parents' apartments as well as for the particularly sensitive farewell room. "We are really thrilled with the lighting," says the committed project manager Elvira Pleiderer. "It gives the rooms a certain expansiveness and has an extremely soothing effect.

The cooperation during the design phase was outstanding in every respect, and the lighting enhances the whole premises." And that was exactly the intention of Dietrich F. Brennenstuhl, who also feels personally attached to the facility. "For me personally and for the Nimbus Group, it was a particular challenge to develop a suitable concept for this sensitive utilisation and to imbue the rooms with as much warmth as possible. Along with numerous other aspects, the light makes it a little easier to feel almost at home," adds Brennenstuhl. The Nimbus Group collaborated with the architect Rolf Mühleisen on the planning and donated many of the luminaires to the facility.
