  Philosophy

urban environments architects is an architectural design and research network which provides professional services in architecture, urban planning, interiors, furniture-, product- and digital-design.

Since its founding urban environments architects worked on a number of projects alternating in program, scale and location. Just recently completed is the 3 dimensional design and construction process of the acoustical treatment of the Tonhalle concerthall in Duesseldorf together with HPP architects and Peutz acoustical engineers. Among other projects, urban environments architects are currently involved in the design and construction of an artist living space extension in Duesseldorf which will be completed in 2009.

urban environments architects are not following a style, but more a concept or work process, which is the guiding force for each task. The architecture develops from these different parameters set by the client, site, location and the specific requirements of any given assignment. A highly conceptual approach as the result of project orientated research, based in the active engagement in teaching and research at different architecture schools, is common in their projects. In addition to traditional methods, the office also implies the latest computer technology in order to utilize algorithms, digital routines and computer aided manufacturing to inform and stimulate the design- and building-process.
