Gesundbrunnen Seetorviertel
Neuruppin / Germany, 2007 Description
Gesundbrunnen SeetorviertelNeuruppin, 2007 © GAP Gesellschaft für Architektur & Projektmanagement mbH The Gesundbrunnen complex on the Ruppiner Lake lies between town and country – between the strict forms of Neuruppin and the soft flow of the waves. More recently, it marks the conjunction of more than 750 years of history with a future-oriented range of leisure activities provided by the pool and sauna world Gesundbrunnen Seetorviertel, whose forecourt is also available for a diverse range of uses. Like the town of Neuruppin, the complex opens on to the lake. The play of references in the large free form pool area is clear: a generous use of wood creates a link to the natural surroundings, while the exterior shell refers to the Prussian precision of the town’s layout. As visitors approach the site from the forecourt, they leave the urban space and their everyday lives behind them and dive into a world of relaxation, wellness and fitness with a view stretching out over the water. The highlight of the facility is the sauna deck built over the water with a set of steps leading into the Ruppiner Lake. Relaxation and regeneration in the Gesundbrunnen Seetorviertel pool and sauna world means you can get back to nature without relinquishing the town. Because it’s only a short walk back to Neuruppin – even though you may feel you’re coming from a completely different world.
