Reputation

Léon Wohlhage Wernik Architekten have been making a creative contribution to architecture and urban culture for more than twenty years. Until his death in 2007, Konrad Wohlhage worked with Hilde Léon to develop the design language of the office they jointly founded in Berlin in 1987 under the name of leonwohlhage. After joining forces with Siegfried Wernik as a third partner in 1997, the name changed to: Léon Wohlhage Wernik Architekten.

The office's reputation is based on a wide range of successful projects. One example is the SchwabenGalerie, which has won numerous awards and has become the new landmark at the centre of the Stuttgart-Vaihingen district. The "Lemon", a striking hovering office building in Berlin Halensee, is famous far beyond the city limits. Many contracts are the result of successful competition designs. In recent years, the architects have even been successful on an international level. High profile designs include "Tripoli Greens", the master plan for Libya's government quarter, as well as the TV & Sightseeing Tower in China's metropolis Guangzhou. Whether in Hamburg, Munich, Stuttgart or Berlin: Léon Wohlhage Wernik Architekten always set new standards within their wide ranging portfolio. Recently, the HWTK Leipzig opened its new library with an adjoining media centre. The ensemble is an example of the contemporary architectural highlights with which Léon Wohlhage Wernik Architekten send a signal in a lively urban landscape.
