“The intensive exploration of historical recipes and practice-based rules however reveals amazing parallels to artistic design principles both in cooking and in architecture or music.” Renate Breuß "Das rechte Maß im Kochen, aus "Der Architekt, der Koch und der gute Geschmack", 2007
For the first brewery in the “red wine town” Ingelheim, we created the “Brauhaus Goldener Engel” brand using an expressive, spatial design in the area of tension between the illustrious element of church architecture and the profane element of brewery culture, between tradition and Modernity at the same time. We positioned slits in the façade using a rule-based process and framed them in solid robes, reminiscent of the local architectural style. The façade can be seen as a music score, with the pitch defined by the height of the slits, the length of each tone by the width of the slits and the rhythm by the distance between them.
