Lutz Dickmann is a German citizen with 15 years experience in the design of high-profile complex structures and sophisticated building envelopes in Europe, Middle East and Asia.
Currently the Managing Director for the Asia-Pacific region of RFR Group.
Attained graduate engineer degree (Dipl.-Ing.) in Civil- & Environmental Engineering from the Institute for Lightweight Structures and Conceptual Design at the University of Stuttgart, one of the leading technical universities in Europe with excellent reputation in the fields of lightweight and concrete structures.
An experienced consultant who has the rare combination of excellent engineering knowledge, creative skills and an understanding of architectural design trends and targets.
A practicing structural engineer and project director who has developed and managed high profile complex structures, bridges and proto-type facades and is familiar with all types of building materials and advanced structures.
Worked on many notable complex, large and innovative projects including the Neumünster Abbey roof structure in Luxemburg, the Panoramic Lift Fortress in Königstein, Germany, and the roof structure of the AWD Arena in Hanover, Germany. More recent projects in Asia include the International Port Cruise Terminal in Shanghai and the Starhill Gallery in Kuala Lumpur.
Throughout his career, Lutz has always maintained an active role as a teacher, lecturer and researcher within his field, using an interdisciplinary approach in both architectural design and civil engineering. He currently holds an Assistant Professor position at The University of Hong Kong, Faculty of Architecture, Shanghai Study Centre; and was previously a key lecturer at the Institute for Building Construction, Technology and Design at The University of Stuttgart, Germany.
Lutz lives and works in Shanghai since 2008.
